Pediatric Eye Exams
Kids Eye Exams That Support School, Sports, and Healthy Vision
Vision impacts how kids learn and perform day to day. A quick school screening can miss issues like focusing, tracking, depth perception, or eye teaming—so a comprehensive exam is the best way to catch problems early.
What we check during a kids eye exam
- Eye focusing (near + distance)
- Eye tracking + peripheral awareness
- Eye teaming + depth perception
- Color vision + overall eye health
How often should kids get an eye exam?
Many children benefit from an exam at about 6 months, again around age 3, and before starting school (around age 5). If your child doesn’t need correction, exams are often recommended every two years; kids in glasses or contacts are typically seen yearly.

If your child is struggling to read, see the board, focus during homework, or play sports, a comprehensive eye exam can help pinpoint what’s going on and what to do next.
